We have truck farmed for 30+ years and use these vegetable varieties our-self on our Southern Illinois farm, Nebraska Wedding Tomatoes will be available at our farm stand this season as quickly as they ripen in the field. This year we have decided to offer the same seed varieties we grow for sale in our Ebay store. The regular-leaf plants of 'Nebraska Wedding' reach about five feet tall by the end of the season and produce beautiful, four-inch diameter, range from eight to twenty ounces each, smooth skinned, apricot-orange fruit that have an excellent, slightly tart flavor. Plants do best in full sun, tomatoes need 1-2" of water a week. We like to start our tomatoes in the greenhouse 6-8 weeks before setting them in the field. I find setting our tomatoes on 3 foot wide black synthetic mulch in very beneficial, in as much as it retains heat in the early spring, retains moisture when the weather gets dry, and retards weed growth all season.
