BVB fans were actively involved in the design of the aircraft: they were able to help decide which favorite moments and stars of BVB history should be immortalized on the aircraft. After voting by over 10,000 Borussia fans, the winning motifs were chosen. The painting of the Airbus was a highly demanding challenge – the illustrations of the nine most legendary BVB moments had to be designed in such a way that football fans could immediately identify the players and heroic scenes. This was created and realized in the painting style of the football artists „Hands of God“. In collaboration with the artists of "Hands of God", Eurowings and Borussia Dortmund, Herpa offers the "Fanairbus" in no less than five variants: as a die-cast metal model in the 1/500 (item no. 536981) and 1/400 scales (item no. 562829), as a highly-detailed and fully-assembled collectors’ model in 1/200 (item no. 572750), and as part of the popular Snap-Fit series in 1/200 as well (item no. 613927), but also in the 1/100 scale as the largest version of the five (item no. 613934).
