New Teton Tioga Magnum 12 WT Fly Fishing Reel

Description: The Teton Tioga Magnum 12 fly fishing reel is one of the great quiet achievers in the fly fishing archives. This is my favorite reel, I've kept in mint condition and I've been afraid to use it. Hand machined in the USA with a weight rating of 11/12, the Magnum 12 is perfect for chasing the saltwater big'uns. The reel is made of durable lightweight aluminum and features a full cage to contain fly line while fighting the bigger saltwater predators. This reel was years ahead of the competition, with a simple, elegant, stylish design, and just the right lightweight build to hold up in saltwater and not fail under the strain of big fish battles, and while I'm tempted to leave it on display, just for it's sheer good looks, I believe it should be used and it should see some action on the water I purchased it new for a 12 wt saltwater setup to fish in Fiji but ended up buying a 12 weight rod reel combo that has done me well, and I've never used the Magnum. The reel is a true beauty and includes a large arbor spool, perfectly machined and finished, with exceptional backing capacity, 300 yards, and a strong drag. The reel is now considered vintage and comes with a lifetime manufacturer warranty that is honored by the new Teton Reel company. It's easy to adjust from right-hand to left-hand retrieve, and it weighs only 9.2 ounces, a perfect weight to balance newer 11/12 weight saltwater rods. This fly fishing reel comes with a Teton Neoprene case, in perfect condition. This reel is a reliable partner for an angler looking to catch some big fish, like Tarpon, Geets, Stripers, Redfish, Permit and Bonefish. This reel should have been a $700 reel in its time, it might have saved the original company had they done their sales and marketing a little differently.
