Description: The Ferrari Testarossa Spider model kit #K54 by Pocher-Rivarossi was made in Italy and released in the early 1990’s. This kit is still new in the box and unassembled. The 1/8 scale diecast metal body is painted in traditional Ferrari Red (Rosso Corsa) over black (Nero) interior. The finished model will weigh over 12 pounds and measure 21.75” long; 9.75” wide; 5.25” tall. The kit is 472 pieces and recommended for ages 15 and up. Instructions are printed in English, Italian, German, French and Dutch. I carefully sliced the 30+ year old factory tape and opened the box to inspect and photograph it for this listing. All parts, decals and instructions appear to be present and undamaged. Also inside this time capsule I found a color brochure of the other models available from Pocher and a postcard to request replacement parts in the rare event that anything is missing or damaged. There is some wear on the outside of the box but aside from the tape that I sliced the factory packaging is completely intact and had never been opened before. Importantly, the kit has always been stored inside my smoke-free, pet-free house. There are no signs of degradation that can occur over time when a kit is stored in a garage or basement and subjected to extreme changes in temperature and humidity. The cover of the instruction book reads as follows: The Testarossa Spider is a convertible version of the presently most famous sports car, the Ferrari Testarossa. Based on the Testarossa, various car designers created convertibles. The prototype for our model was developed by Pininfarina, the most famous Italian designer. It is a one-time creation, made for a well-known Italian automobile industrialist. Mechanically the Spider is almost identical to the Ferrari Testarossa with its outstanding 12 cylinder 4942 cc engine of 400 hp at 6300 RPM. The body and body parts are made of metal alloy with multiple paint coating. The metal parts include the body, doors, headlight covers, hood and bonnet lids, bumpers, etc. This model features operating steering mechanism, special door key, opening headlight covers, etc. Other parts are made of steel, brass, fiberglass, nylon, polystyrene , ABS and other materials. Metallized lettering and self-adhesive serve for the decorations. Building this model is fairly easy, and it should give you a lot of satisfaction. You only need a screwdriver, wire cutters, a small hammer, tweezers, a small file, and a 5 mm socket wrench.
