The print depicts a beautiful nurse (RN) telling a Christmas story to a group of children at the hospital. Given the age of the print and the fact it was made in London, this is probably the Hospital for Sick Children founded in 1852. It was the first hospital providing in-patient beds specifically for children in England. Despite opening with just 10 beds, it grew into one of the world's leading children's hospitals through the patronage of Queen Victoria, counting Charles Dickens, a personal friend of Dr West, the Chief Physician, as one of its first fundraisers. Now called the Great Ormond Street Hospital (informally GOSH or Great Ormond Street), it is a children's hospital located in the Bloomsbury area of the London Borough of Camden, and a part of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 16 inches (28 x 40.5 cm).
