Device and principle of operation The octane analyzer is made in the form of a single device that includes three main units. The octane meter has a body consisting of a compartment with an electrical part and a transition compartment with sealing rings, to which a measuring tube with a sensing element is attached. The transition section and the measuring tube form a channel in which there is or flows gasoline. In the compartment with the electronic part, there is a digital display and batteries. The fuel is checked when the petrol hits the sensing element in the tube (sensor), the para-meters of the element change, the microprocessor compares them with the data recorded in the memory and the digital display shows the measurement figures corresponding to the octane number of the petrol. The tester is switched on by pressing the "ON/OFF" button once until it locks. Pressing this button again turns the instrument off.
