Description: This is not a re-print. This is the original edition published by The Southworth Press in Portland, Maine in 1926. "This is a very detailed, endearing history of Buxton, Maine 1772 - 1922. Many tributes by residents and dignitaries including an address by Kate Douglas Wiggins a summer resident of nearby Hollis. She founded the Dorcas Society in Buxton in 1897. There are extensive lists of Revolutionary War soldiers, volunteer militia in the war of 1812, War With Mexico, Civil War, Spanish American war." Also lists of Buxton Town Clerks, selectmen, lawyers...etc. This 102 year old first edition is in good, used condition with normal shelf wear, foxing here and there, and there is a sticker and some writing on the front pastedown. The bottom corner of pages 87 - 90 were folded over. Otherwise, I see no flaws in this book. Please see photos to assess condition. 4
