Description: Original 1891 antique color lithographed map of Scotland, printed more than 130 years ago. The image area measures 48 x 32 cm [19" x 12½"], and the map shows steamship routes, railroad lines, canals, battlefields, cities, towns, shire boundaries, and natural features, with topography drawn in relief. There are inset plans of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Other named places include Berwick, Cheviot Hills, Inverary, Little Minch, Aberdeen, Inverness, Perth, Loch Ness, and many more. The map was issued as Plate 15 in Library Atlas of Modern Geography, published by D. Appleton & Company, New York. It is dated 1891 in the lower margin. It is an original, authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. Condition: It is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with a horizontal center fold, as issued, and no marks, rips, or tears. It is blank on the back, with no printing on the reverse side. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. Accompanying the map is a separate 2-sided sheet with an engraved view of Edinburgh from Nelson's Monument, along with information on Scotland's history, geography, government, and commerce.
