The illustration depicts various cultural, natural and social motifs to promote the country. Among the many examples are: The city of Flores, inside Lake Peten Itza, The Mayan archaeological sites of Tikal, Zaculeu and Uaxactun. The city of Antigua Guatemala, Lake Atitlan, and much more. At the bottom there are also several illustrated individuals, in order to represent some of the typical costumes of Guatemala at that time, both civilian and military. Condition: From circa 1936 is used, however it is in very good condition. Minimal edge wear (small tear bottom left see pic). Map has been rolled (never folded) and will be shipped that way. The backside which is blank shows some paper fading and places that were repaired with clear tape from original owner. It doesn't appear visible on the map side but nevertheless its there. Im the second owner and i havnt performed any repairs or restoration. This map is still a gem and a little restoration would bring it up to frameable quality.
