About this work: An excellent original signed lithograph depicting the legendary Windsor Castle by HM King Charles III (b. 1948). “The third lithograph to be produced was the very dramatic Windsor Castle which was painted in winter, just before a thunderstorm. The sky has turned black and the Prince told me that he raced outside to try to capture the dramatic shafts of sunlight on the Castle walls before the deluge. He didn’t finish the tree on the right and told me that he was afraid the composition would be spoiled if he went back to work on it indoors.” - Anna Hunter. This image was shown all around the world to excellent reviews. More recently Windsor Castle has been the location for the 2018 wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie to Jack Brooksbank. The work is professionally matted and framed behind glass. It is signed in the lower right and numbered 239/295 in the lower left. Original lithographs by King Charles continue to rise in value. Bonhams sold his lithograph of Balmoral Castle for ~$6,500 on October 20, 2022. His view of Windsor Castle is considered even more prized, its retail value being $16,000, compared to $10,176 for his Balmoral Castle work.
