This choice small Tin and Four-Sided Glass Vented Candle Lantern c.1810 War of 1812 Era to about circa 1830's, Imported from either Europe most likely French made. The surface has a nice dark patina as expected from age. The four glass panes may or may not be period to the piece, one have a vertical crack. The door opens and closes nicely with a small functional locking clasp handle which catches properly when closed. On the inside around there is no candle holder which is common. With the handle fully up measuring 10.5 inches high and 4.25 inches wide. Superior in quality and ready for display. A wonderful pair of primitive lighting out of a Colonial New England, New Bedford Massachusetts home. This piece would make a wonderful addition to someones folk art, antique lighting or primitive collection!
