Description: "New Abstract Series on Paper" I present a new artwork series in my continuing expansion of expressive artworks. This work was created using Gouache & Pastel on 18 x 24" Archival Paper. These works are 100% natural and come completely untreated with any chemicals or preservation materials. They are free paper works, and do not come matted or framed. This new Natural Expressive Art Series on Paper falls under the classification of "Abstract Expressive Art." Review of the 1950's Expressive Art Movement: "Raw Abstraction" or "Abstract Expressive Art" had it's birth in U.S. in the late 1940's. This postwar U.S. art movement was developed out of New York City, and became amazingly popular for many decades to follow. In a postwar times art-world, the general public and art patrons alike were well ready for a break from emotional constraints of academic or structured art. For well over two decades came a plethora of amazing new and "painterly free" works derived (at their best) purely from the soul. Desperate to remove the academic training from art, and with that all of those preconceived notions (i.e. intellectual controls) of what art should be, the abstract expressionist movement was born. This art style involves the combination of extensive art knowledge and developed technique with an expansive imagination and evolved mental and emotional freedom. I do adore creating expressive art. It is a very special doorway allowing for total trust in creative process. Trust in one's combined artist ability and evolution as a person. I plan on forging ahead to create a plethora of uniquely fascinating pieces within this new paper series in the coming months and years. Several works have already been created and are currently available purchase. The expressive style will remain consistent while the color palettes used will vary greatly. Each work will hold this very reasonable and affordable initial price point for 100% original art. I hope you have enjoyed today's brief discussion on "Abstracts on Paper, Work (d.)."
