Description: Offered is an ORIGINAL, authentic WWII USN Flight Nurse Wing by AMICO. This wing was one of the first 24 wings issued to USN Flight Nurses and is pictured on page 97 in my book "U.S. Navy Wing Variations of WWII, A Photographic Guide" now available on Amazon. The wing two inches long, pin-backed and has AMICO and 1/20 10KG on S incised on the reverse side. The wing also has AMICO faintly incised in the center of the wing above the rivet head on the reverse side. Only the first 24 wings produced had this done to the wings. The sterling silver acorn is riveted to the diagonal oak leaf on the front of the wing. AMICO was the only company that riveted the acorn to the wing. The N.S. Meyer and H&H versions had the acorn affixed to the front of their respective wings. This is a classical beauty in fantastic condition and rarely offered on the open market.
