Entitled A Chacun Son Tour" and "WC Privé." Each piece measures 20.25 inches wide by 9 inches high. Boris O’Klein was a Russian-born French painter and illustrator best known for his humorous The Dirty Dogs of Paris cartoons. In this iconic series—which appeared in both comic book panel and individual illustration formats—depict anthropomorphized dogs engaged funny or mischievous activities, including smoking, drinking, and chatting in Parisian cafes. O’Klein also created more traditional and realistic paintings of animals using the pseudonym Jean Herblet, separate from his life as a commercial illustrator. Born on September 26, 1893 in Moscow, Russia, his family immigrated to Alsace, France when he was child. The artist died in 1985 in Paris, France.
