Description: ORIGINAL HOOD ORNAMENT FOR A 1955 OLDSMOBILE 88 OR 98 OEM Nice Piece.This has been hanging on a shop office wall from at least 1978 as I was shown an old photograph of the owners and this was hanging on the wall in the background. The chrome is in what I would call just about unbelievable condition for a used OEM 1955 ornament. The plastic insert could use a buff perhaps using a plastic polishing product. The insert has two issues that I took close ups of. Neither of which can be seen from the front when mounted. 1) One tab has lost a piece and the washer is missing. That washer can be replaced and there is more than enough 'tab' to secure the insert.2) One tab has a crack running away from it. Maybe fine as is but if I were going to use it on a car I would stabilize it by using a glue or other type of product like a silicone, etc. I always try and give full disclosure on my listings.
