V-21-N for Vanguard and Navy. In gilt metal for the members of the SEALs. Dates from after 1978. The SEALs trident badge was instituted in 1970. They were issued in gold (officers) and silver (enlisted) from 1970 until 1978 when it transitioned to gold for all members. The United States Navy Sea, Air, and Land (SEAL) Teams, commonly known as Navy SEALs, are the US Navy's primary special operations forces and a component of the Naval Special Warfare Command.
