After playing in minor league baseball, he retired without playing in Major League Baseball (MLB). He became a minor league manager, and then managed in MLB for 17 years with the Baltimore Orioles (1968–1982; 1985–86), winning a World Series championship in 1970. Weaver's style of managing was summed up in the quote: "pitching, defense, and the three-run homer." He did not believe in placing emphasis on "small ball" tactics such as stolen bases, hit and run plays, or sacrifice bunts. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996.CARDS INCLUDED WITH SALE: *1981 Fleer #178*1987 Topps # 568 Team Checklist with Following Players Listed:Managerial RecordTeamYearRegular seasonPostseasonGamesWonLostWin %FinishWonLostWin %ResultBAL1968824834.5852nd in AL––––BAL196916210953.6731st in AL East44.500Lost World Series (NYM)BAL197016210854.6671st in AL East71.875Won World Series (CIN)BAL197115810157.6391st in AL East64.600Lost World Series (PIT)BAL19721548074.5193rd in AL East––––BAL19731629765.5991st in AL East23.400Lost ALCS (OAK)BAL19741629171.5621st in AL East13.250Lost ALCS (OAK)BAL19751599069.5662nd in AL East––––BAL19761628874.5432nd in AL East––––BAL19771619764.6022nd in AL East––––BAL19781619071.5594th in AL East––––BAL197915910257.6421st in AL East65.545Lost World Series (PIT)BAL198016210062.6172nd in AL East––––BAL1981543123.5742nd in AL East––––512823.5494th in AL EastBAL19821629468.5802nd in AL East––––BAL19851055352.5054th in AL East––––BAL19861627389.4517th in AL East––––Total[46]254014801060.5832620.565 *Selling Off My Entire Sports Card & Other Sports Collectible Items I have Collected Through The Years!
