Description: Welcome to ANTIQUES & MOORE! This listing is for an incredible pair of antique American Brilliant Period cut glass candlesticks, c. 1900. The design features a panel cut tulip shaped top with octagonal paneled stem that has a large diamond cut sphere near the top with the panels becoming wider as they approach the top of the base. The base has a convex shape that is panel cut in an extension of the octagonal cutting on the stem. The bottom of the candlestick is totally cut with a hobstar in the center and a diamond cut that becomes larger as it nears the outside edge. These are the most impressive American Brilliant cut glass candlesticks I have ever owned. Although we have been unable to determine the maker, they were surely made by one of the best American glass houses of the late 1800's to early 1900's period. Measure 10" high with a top diameter of 2 1/2" and a base diameter of 4 3/4". Combined weight is 5 pounds. These fabulous candlesticks are in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minimal signs of normal wear on base.We at Antiques & Moore have been in the Antiques business for over 30 years and try to describe our items as accurately as possible.
