Description: Pair of Antique Staffordshire Floral Spray Pluck and Dust 9 Inch Plates 1830 Pair of fine antique plates hand painted over pink transfer in the 1830s technique known as "pluck and dust". In this technique, the pattern was transfered in sticky oil, which was then dusted with powdered pigment. This produced a very fine delicate pattern, which young women then filled in like a coloring book. The pair of plates are 8 7/8 inches wide. They are molded and decorated around the rim with fine hand painted gilding. Marked in hand by the painters, "No. 2636" together with painter's marks. Condition: The plates are excellent condition.
