Description: A nice pair of rimmed ironstone soup bowls in the "Roses" pattern by the Staffordshire maker Hancock, Whittingham & Co. Based on the mark, these date from the 1860's or 1870's. They are 10-3/8" in diameter and 1-5/8" deep at the rim. They have a black transferware roses design with a teal band around the rim. They are in nice, clean condition for 150 years old with no cracks or heavy crazing. There are spots of wear on the rims and very minor wear to the design.
