Description: Pair of vintage Knobler solid stone taper candle holders/small pots made in India. These 2 holders are small and made of different types of stone.. One is Jasper, golden yellow colored with veining throughout. It stands 2 1/4" high and is 1 3/4" in diameter. The mouth is 7/8" across. The mouth has a small rim around it. The other holder is Serpentine stone, also know as New Jade though its composition and hardness is not the same as Jade, it just has a similar appearance and color. The stone has veining throughout it as well with different shades of green and some spots that are rust colored. It is 2" tall, 2" in diameter and has a mouth just shy of 1". The mouth has a rim around it too. Both pieces have the original Knobler sticker on the bottom and say India. The stones are polished to a high smooth gloss with a flat and lightly textured bottom. They each weigh approximately 1/2 pound. Beautiful and unique as no 2 are exactly alike. These are also versatile. They can be simply displayed with other pottery, used as tiny vases, as ink pots for calligraphy or for their intended use as taper candle holders. They are both in excellent undamaged condition with no cracks or chips, minor shelf wear on the bottom.
