Description: The print offered here is a hand-colored lithograph of the Barriere de Passy (Seine) with Paris faintly evident in the background. The hand coloring is heightened with gum arabic. The image shows the local residents going about their daily business along the Seine. The original drawing was by Victor Adams (1801-1869) and it was lithographed by the Paris Turgis shop, although interestingly by the Widow Turgis ("Vve Turgis" in lower left corner) who took over the shop after her husband's death and ran it from 1844-1855. Thus the print can be dated to that period. The print was obviously part of a series, as it has "Pl. 6" in the upper right corner above the image. I have been unable to find another example of this lithograph online. This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
