Description: You are bidding on one as-is Keen Kutter iron or blade or cutter, plus the chip breaker and chip breaker screw, all for a metal bodied wood plane as pictured.The iron is marked "E C SIMMONS KEEN KUTTER" in their usual logo. The chip breaker appears to be a Stanley chip breaker for a metal bodied plane, like a K4 or K5 plane. Stanley and others made planes for Keen Kutter. Width of the iron at the sharp end is a hair under 2", and overall length is about a 32nd over 6" measured down the middle.The iron is sharpened on a curve, like a scrub plane iron, while the chip breaker is straight across at the lower end. Asit sits, there is about 5/8" between the bottom of the slot and the sharp edge measured down the center.Condition of the iron and chip breaker is fair, with lots of rust in the mating surfaces between them. The back side of the iron has patina (color) but only a few small spots of pitting. The front side of the chip breaker has some spots of pitting, some dings around the large hole, and both pieces have some dings on the upper ends. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location. There is lots of information available from eBay that explains it in much more detail. The sales tax is completely out of my hands -- I don't have anything to do with deciding whether to charge tax, I don't have anything to do with deciding the tax rate, and I never see any of the funds that are collected, they go directly to eBay.SELLING OUTSIDE OF EBAY: Why would I risk my lengthy good standing with eBay to save you a couple of dollars?
