Passenger Car Interior Kit for Athearn 72ft Standard Steel Obs. w/ Sleeping Pass

Description: Miscellaneous Railroad Company 27Obs-AthHW Passenger Car Interior KIT for the Athearn 72ft Standard Steel (Heavy-Weight) Observation Car. The interior is designed to accommodate the window placements of the observation car. This kit features 3 two-person compartments, a one person compartment, two Lavatories, and the observation area. The compartments have seating and “beds”. The observation area has 4 tables with seating for 16 (for playing cards or writing letters) and lounge seating facing the rear of the car. The kit includes 4 “sleeping passengers” (3 double and 1 single) for the “beds” (flat rectangles in the compartments). The “sleeping people” are separate pieces to facilitate painting. There are holes in the floor to fit around the truck screws. The stock steel weight has to be removed. LSW100 is recommended for car weight, but the lead sheet is not included with the kit. The pilot car has 7 1/2 inch piece of LSW100 installed and the car weighs 6.1 ounces with the interior installed and the original trucks. TEST FIT BEFORE GLUEING!! “Super Glue” works well for assembly, but please read warning below. Align the parts with a ruler to keep them straight while gluing. Paint the interior, the sleeping people and install other “passengers” before installation. Some of the passenger’s feet may have to be trimmed. Bond the completed interior to the previously installed LSW with automotive weather stripping adhesive. Warning! Do not install the interior in the passenger car sooner than 12 hours after using “Super Glue”. Cyanoacrylate adhesives release fumes that will attack and mar your windows and other surfaces.I attempt to provide the most accurate description possible. My intention is to prevent any surprises.
