A12 GWR 93xx Collett Mogul Loco/tender body kit (grading 5) N GAUGE for full details on the grading of our kits please see the appropriate custom page.Grading system for kits Picture includes loco/tender body when made in grey primer This kit includes castings to make both the loco and tender body, it also includes handrail wire and etched number plates. To complete you need a Graham Farish Prairie chassis which requires slight modification (full details included in the instructions) and a Graham Farish GWR/SR tender chassis. Background In 1932 Collett built a further batch of engines with minor changes—he fitted them with side window cabs, outside steam pipes and screw reverse. These locos were numbered in the 93xx series and looked quite different from Churchwards earlier design as they had the drop in the footplate a full 12 inches further forward in line with the front of the smokebox. All the engines passed into British Railways ownership and in the 1950’s they converted the locos back to the lightweight buffer beam format and renumbered them in the 73xx series above the last ‘original’ 7321. The kit contains the same variation alternatives as mentioned for A11. We produce in excess of 420 different kits for N Gauge of which more than 100 are available handpainted and finished.
