This Wolfgang is a late production Wolfgang from the Meridian Custom Shop with the "Custom Graphics" option. One of the many things that makes this guitar special is that John painted it for himself. This is one of two Wolfgangs that John owned. Only 130 Wolfgangs were built at the Meridian Shop. Only a small percentage of those were painted with the graphic option by John. There are many colors to choose from, but all the custom painted Wolfgangs were painted exclusively by John Douglas. John painted it himself, sent the body back to the Custom Shop to be assembled, and sent it back to John. This Wolfgang hung on the wall of his office for the rest of his life. While celebrity clients may have touched it a little here and there, according to John, it has never actually been played. John Douglas John is an accomplished drummer and artist. John was the drummer in the band Kik Tracee, but is also known as the drum technician for Frank Beard (ZZ Top), Alex Van Halen, Joey Kramer (Aerosmith), and many others. He has also painted the drum kits of the musicians mentioned above and many others. John was commissioned by Eddie and Peavy to be the exclusive painter for Wolfgangs with graphics options.
