Description: 1. DESCRIPTION Polished aluminum ashtray by Philippe Starck (born in 1949), model Ray Hollis, vintage 1980s, exactly year 1986. The piece we propose is a very hard to find original work from 1986, not the later XO 1990s re-issue. The smoking accessory has been designed by the French designer for the Royalton hotel in New York. Its name Ray Hollis comes from the novel Ubik by Philip K. Dick. It is incised "Starck" at the underside of the up moving part. 2. CONDITION The ashtray has a wear and age patina, it particularly has a large dig at the place where the tipping lid bangs the down part, please see photo 5. 3. DIMENSIONS . Width: 11.5 cm / 4.50.
