Description: Thank you for visiting my listing! Please visit my other auctions for more rare and unusual seeds! Phoenix theophrasti Cretan Date Palm Hardiness: USDA 8b The Cretan Date Palm, native to the island of Crete and the country of Turkey, has been described as being one of the hardiest date palms. This species is similar to the cultivated date palm, but smaller in stature, and bears small fruits that have little flavor. The species makes a great ornamental for places a little too cold for the cultivated date palm, P. dactylifera. A specimen in Savannah, GA reportedly only suffered minor damage at 13F.
