Description: Photograph Notes: An unusual junction of the M25, where vehicles wishing to stay on the main motorway in either direction have to leave what would seem to be the main carriageway. Crossing from right to left is a spur leading from the northbound A21, with traffic on the anti-clockwise M25 joining in the far distance on the left. Underneath is the start of the M26; Beyond the bridge the junction off to the left is for traffic that had been travelling on the anti-clockwise M25 wishing to leave to join the A21 southbound (the same link can be seen rejoining the A21 in the middle distance towards the left of the photo, having done a 270 degree turn), while straight on is the M26 towards Maidstone near where it joins the M20. The right hand of the two main carriageways is the clockwise M25, having turned off from what then becomes the A21 spur below the quarry in the distance. Joining the M25 at the right hand edge of the photo is the westbound M26. If the explanation is too complicated, maybe looking at the map will help! Viewed from the bridge from Chevening Cross to Chipstead, which crosses the whole complex.
