THIS WAS ORIGINALLY SITUATED NEAR ROTORUA IN NEW ZEALAND AND PROVIDED SHELTER TO LOCAL PEOPLE DURING THE ERUPTION OF MOUNT TARAWERA IN 1886. THE BUILDING WAS COVERED IN ASH AND SURROUNDED BY LAVA BUT ITS OCCUPANTS SURVIVED.
