See below. One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user installed spacer between the grip panels, as seen on many of the early Colts. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw. Preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look, One-Piece style grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and backstrap backwards. Reinstallation is in reverse order. Our One-Piece style grips will work on either style gripframe (either One-Piece or Two-Piece style grip frames). Our Two-Piece grips include a free Conversion kit (allowing their use on One-Piece style frames) which replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows the grips to lock up tight, allowing no movement.
