Description: Up for sale here is this complete rebuild set for a Pioneer SX-780. This is all the parts you need to rebuild a Pioneer SX-780 main board (the one with the power supply, protection, amplifier section, preamplifier section, and phono EQ), tuner board, and replace the two main caps as well. Over time, capacitors and transistors start acting up and need to be replaced. The old parts are weak and failing. We will make them new again! This kit includes: Main board kit: 45 capacitors10 transistors8 diodes1 relay Tuner board kit: 15 capacitors2 transistors 2 replacement main capacitors (Nichicon VR 10000 uf 50v) These are all high-quality brand new genuine parts. The capacitors are 105° Panasonic FC, Nichicon PW, Nichicon KL, Wima film, and Nichicon VR (for the main caps) capacitors at the same or improved uf and voltage ratings, the transistors & diodes are the correct Fairchild/OnSemi subs for the originals, and the relay is a new Omron relay. These are extremely high-quality parts, and they are what I use when I rebuild Pioneer gear. These are not guaranteed to fix your SX-780, but they will certainly help it run better, and will fix many non-working SX-780s. This kit does not include any fuses, resistors, or the output STK packs. A note about STK packs: The Pioneer SX-780 uses a pair of STK-0050 Darlington Power Packs for outputs--one for each channel. These go bad in so many exciting ways! The receiver could start blowing fuses, it get stuck in protection, it could lose a channel, it could have distortion on one channel, or it could work but just have issues with setting the DC balance voltage, all from STK pack issues. There are tons of STK packs on eBay, and they're pretty much all modern Chinese fakes. If you are looking for a replacement pack, I would recommend either watching for a used working pull or buying one of the kits where you can replace the STKs with discrete output transistors. The Chinese fakes are cheap, but they will just blow up or break in other fun ways, and you'll be back where you started. I will include a surprisingly well-written instruction sheet, but this is a moderately complicated rebuild, though it's not too bad, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron, heat-sink compound, and a dim-bulb tester with a 60W or 100W incandescent bulb. Please see my pictures for details. US shipping and handling is $6, and international is $28.
