Description: **** P I T C A I R N I S L A N D S **** 1 9 6 3 FREEDOM FROM HUNGER ONLY 350 FIRST DAY COVERS SERVICED R A R E SIGNED BY PITCAIRN'S DENTIST IVAN CHRISTIAN Sc#32, S.G. 35, Mi.#35, Yv.#35 This is the SCARCEST PITCAIRN FIRST DAY COVER of Queen Elizabeth's reign. It is reported that only 350 First Day Covers were serviced on the island for this issue on June 4th 1963. Only a VERY FEW of these may have been signed by a "Mutiny-on-the-Bounty" descendant! NO YELLOWING (its my scanner!). CONDITION: is absolutely perfect and fresh - NO rips, tears or wrinkles, and NO yellowing, age marks, rust, oxidation, discoloration, or any other blemishes. The stamp itself is also in the same perfect condition, and is tied to the cover by the regular Pitcairn Island Post Office postmark of June 4th 1963 (Kitching type 2.5), in use from 1959 to 1970. The reverse side of the envelope is signed on the flap by IVAN CHRISTIAN. CACHETS: The Boxed "FIRST DAY COVER // PITCAIRN ISLAND" in the upper left corner is struck in purple ink (Kitching type 6.6). The blue printed Pitcairn Island cachet is Parker's Type 17c (early use of the blue print).
