Author Biography Milton Brown Do Coutto Filho has been a Full Professor at Fluminense Federal University (UFF), Institute of Computing, Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, since 1994. He received a B.Sc. from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) in electrical engineering and an M.Sc. and D. Sc. in electrical engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil. Prof. Browns employment experience includes being an Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at PUC-Rio from 1977 to 1994 and a Visiting Scholar in the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, from 1992 to 1993. His research interests are computer applications in power systems. Prof. Brown is the author of more than two hundred scientific papers published in journals and proceedings of national and international conferences throughout his 46-year career as a university professor.
