Description: Pre Columbian Central Coast Peru Chimu Stirrup Vessel Monkey WavePottery Vessel As Picture On my research and viewing other photos on the Internet, I do believe this is pre-Columbian Central Coast, Peru Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A charming mold-formed and a highly brownware pottery vessel with a round staple base, a two chambered body, a cylindrical spout, and a stirrup-shaped strap handle. One chamber exhibits a typical spherical Chimu form, with panels displaying miniature monkeys, and pairs of Christine waves. The other chamber takes the form of a crouching monkey. There is one small abrasion on the inner opening of the spout. It is marked on the bottom which is shown in the photos. Otherwise, this vessel is complete intact and in great condition given its age.
