Description: For your consideration is this very scarce pre WWII 1920's/30's Coro Patriotic Sweetheart wing. There's another (later) Coro sweetheart wing variation that's readily available for sale on eBay - those wings are marked "Sterling Craft by Coro" which lands them squarely for use in WWII. This is the first in this pattern we've seen, and couldn't find another on Worthpoint... so it's likely none have been sold (at least on eBay) in the past decade. The demand for patriotic sweetheart wings during this interwar period was certainly not as high as WWII, so it's likely there were only a handful of these wings produced. The wing is modeled after 1920's/30's U.S. Army Air Corps wings, and has the early plain script "Coro" makers mark used after 1919. The roller clasp also indicates pre war construction, is the same as found on other Coro brooches from the period, and is in very good working order. There's a touch of paint missing on the shield, but that could easily be retouched by the new owner if he or she so desires. Buy from us with confidence.
