He did not stop to sign items and most times; the backstage area was cleared when he pulled into the venue and entered the venue with security. You wouldn't see him other than soundcheck. He would leave hotels and enter and exit venues surrounded by management and security, occasionally with friends, family or band members with him. Approaching artists for an autograph as part of the crew was extremely frowned upon and could get you into a lot of trouble and/or even fired. I had to pick my opportunities very wisely and it often involved a friend with promotion, production / band management and an expensive bottle of bourbon as a thank you. My very last Prince tour I worked on was in 2012 at the United Center in Chicago on the Welcome 2 Chicago Tour. He performed there for a 3-night stay. The very first tour working him was on the 1993 Tour. Prior to that I had seen him in a non-working capacity in 1988 at the Rosemont Horizon on the Lovesexy Tour. Prince was arguably one of the greatest performers of the last several decades... always a great show! 'Love Symbol' is a great release and seeing them out on tour back in the late 80s was awesome. In over 3 decades, not once, did I ever see a bad show. Gifted musician and incredible guitarist and ultimate performer! Here is your chance to own a true piece of rock & roll history. I can't decide whether or not I want to frame this piece for myself or simply get it into the hands of another TRUE fan. Undoubtedly, one of the greatest musicians of our time and who's music speaks to multiple generations. I am going to offer this up for sale and in the event, it does not sell in short order, I may just pull it and frame it up to hang in my Manhattan residence. I wanted to simply give the buyer an opportunity to frame this in a manner they personally see fit.
