PURCHASE ANY FIVE OR MORE ITEMS AT A TIME AND RECEIVE AN IMMEDIATE 20% DISCOUNT ON YOUR EBAY INVOICE. IT IS THE LEAST I CAN DO FOR MY FELLOW COLLECTORS WHO LOOK FOR GOOD DEALS JUST AS I DO. STAND BY FOR ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL RADIO SHOWS FEATURING THE OLDIES FROM THE GOLDEN AGE OF ROCK N ROLL, INTERVIEWS WITH THE BEST OF THE BEST, AND PRESENTED ONE OF EARLY ROCKS LEGENDS, CRUISIN' AMERICA WITH COUSIN BRUCIE. IT IS A RADIO SHOW FEATURING COUSIN BRUCE MORROW, ONE OF THE ABSOLUTE GREATS OF EARLY ROCK PRESENTING A THREE HOUR SHOW JUST AS HE DID WHEN HE WAS LIVE IN THE GOLDEN ERA OF ROCK FIRST ON WABC IN NEW YORK CITY AND LATER ON WCBS FM IN NEW YORK AND PRESENTLY ON SIRIUS RADIO. BUT FIRST, HERE IS THE BIG QUESTION FOR ALL YOU FIRST TIMERS AND THOSE OF YOU WHO, LIKE ME, LEARN NEW THINGS ABOUT RADIO SHOWS EVERY DAY: WHAT IS A RADIO SHOW? WHY COLLECT THEM? WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them. Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations to air normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break. Many air on Saturday or Sunday afternoon or evenings or during late night/overnight segments. They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others. People collect these shows for various reasons. Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all. Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music. Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation bought at Wal Mart or downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj presentations which were very entertaining. Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments. Some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those. AND, these shows are in limited quantity. They were pressed just for syndicated stations in the United States and world wide through the American Forces Radio Network for soldiers and sailors overseas who could listen to AFRTS stations or have them played aboard large ships such as aircraft carriers. Many have just a few still in circulation. Some of the more popular shows may have as many as a couple hundred of each week's show that survived but think about it. One or two hundred for some 200 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be. By the way, these radio shows are highly sought after by collectors in Europe, Australia and Japan AND they are increasingly hard to find. THIS is because radio shows were meant for one time network broadcast and could never be aired again due to the time limited commercial content on each show. And most radio stations had limited storage space so they just tossed them away. Believe me, I know; I work at just such a radio station. Radio shows were first distributed on reel to reel tape if the show goes back that far into the 60's, or lp, later on CDm then CDr. Now they are no longer available to collectors at all since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes. No more lps. No more cds. Sadly, no more shows. And, these shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them and the people who sell them, like me, are running out of them. The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase. I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a no holds barred guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money. I sell them for near what I bought them for. I give volume discounts and discount postage always. As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years has decreased. And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of over ten thousand shows, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had. Finally, it is Americana at its best. Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown. And you just can't find them anywhere. Even record stores that still exist will rarely have few or any. Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of radio at least music wise. And every one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions in the hundreds at most and most much less. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life! Welcome to the Club! My prices are guaranteed to save! Others say they are the lowest cost on the internet - compare shop. Add their shipping costs to their prices and compare with mine. You WILL save and the more you buy the more you save. DO YOU REMEMBER THE EARLY ERA OF ROCK AND ROLL? Picture yourself back in the late 50's, 60's, even the 70's and 80's. You were glued to your transistor radio listening to the top 40 presented by your local radio station. You had that radio glued to your ear or connected with the little earphone jack that immediately broke. Your local dj was great. He knew the music. He had the gift of talking which rarely occurs anymore. You loved the presentation of the music as much as the sounds. You liked the station jingles. And on weekends when the local dj's had off, you listened to either taped shows they did during the week to be played on the weekend or a syndicated radio show featuring one of the greats. It was the golden age of rock. Music was king and the dj's were just as popular. You can relive those days whether you grew up then or just wish you had on only a handful of oldies shows. THIS IS ONE OF THEM. Most of you who know me, collectors who have dealt with me over the years, know that my favorite series of all time is this, CRUISIN AMERICA WITH COUSIN BRUCIEIT FEATURED NOT ONLY THE BEST MUSIC FROM THE EARLY ROCK ERA INCLUDING RARE INTERVIEWS AND IN CONCERT APPEARANCES, BUT WAS PRESENTED BY ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST RENOWNED DISC JOCKEYS - COUSIN BRUCIE MORROW WHO REIGNED DURING THE EARLY ROCK ERA IN NEW YORK ON 77 WABC. Cousin Brucie started his career on 1010 WINS New York in 1959. At that time, WINS along with WMGM were the top rock n roll stations in New York City. (If you were there you remember the jingle "1010 WINS New York") In 1960 he switched to AM 770, WABC, one of the most powerful radio outlets on the East Coast. WINS counter programmed with Murray The K but he was no challenge to Cousin Brucie! From 7 - 9 every evening, Cousin Brucie reigned! In 1965, Cousin Brucie introduced the Beatles during the first of their historic Shea Stadium Concerts. Morrow also had a close relationship with Elvis Presley. Cousin Brucie was at WABC for 13 years and 4,014 broadcasts when he jumped to WNBC for three years. In 1982 he returned to the airwaves on WCBS-FM in New York, remaining there until 2005. Shortly after, he joined Sirius Satellite Radio and remains there today. This show, Cruisin America began in 1986 and continued weekly until 1992 with a weekly three hour oldies trip through the early rock era along with special guests who would join Cousin Brucie in studio. These guests were not only from music but the entertainment world as well. His connections ran across the entertainment spectrum. This show is one of the best packaged radio shows ever produced and rivals or exceeds Dick Clark's Rock Roll and Remember. The album cover is beautiful as you can see in the picture. The Cue sheets are the best quality of any show I have ever seen. They are in full color and are in a packet of seven pages containing not only the song and commercial list but the promos used on each show and the information for stations that they needed to air it. This show is a classic and needs to be in your collection. Whenever I list these shows they sell immediately because they are so rare and of such high quality. The CBS Radio Network took pride in its syndicated shows and it shows in the production values of this one. I am sorry that I have gone on and on with this listing but that is how I feel about this show. I hope you feel the same way. THIS SHOW AIRED ON THE WEEKEND OF APRIL 21, 1989THE SHOW CONTENTS CAN BE SEEN IN THE LISTING PICTURES. Remember, when you buy this show, not only will you own the tunes but also interspersed between songs is fascinating commentary on the artists and songs. Also, keep in mind that this and all the oldies shows are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio history and Americana. You just aren't going to find these shows anymore. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price Most people even enjoy the national commercials that are included on the show because some 30 years later they sound good! Either way, it is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection. As always, I charge only $2.99 shipping for US buyers and only for the heaviest show you buy for my International buyer collectors (except for an additional $8 per show only for multiple lp shows), so the more you buy the more money you will save. It is the least I can do because of the exorbitant overseas shipping charges. Good Luck and God Bless You.
