Description: This antique Transferware plate is a beautiful addition to any collection. Made by Ralph Stevenson in the early 19th century, it has the rich blue color and beautiful transfer print design that you expect of early pieces. The pattern is Palestine, and the central scene is an idealized picture of an exotic location boasting temples, mountains, exotic plants and figures. The border creates a canopy of trees on the top with weeping willows, palm trees and other foliage tapering to lower flowering plants in the foreground. The plate measures approximately 9.25 inches in diameter and sits on a 5 unglazed foot. The underside has both an impressed and printed makers mark, and the dimples from the firing trivet are visible on the rim. The blue tint glaze pools in the crevices. This plate is perfect for display and is a unique piece that is sure to charm for years to come. The item(s) are antique and sold as is. They may show wear, fading, scratches, chips, cracks, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
