This rare 1900s "Surbrug's Navy Cut" hinged litho tobacco tin, measuring 1" x 3" is in good condition with some small dents, some minor paint chips. The hinge is in excellent working order. This very unusual, striking maroon"compact" tin features gold fleur-de-lis and circles as well as lettering advertising the Surbrug tobacco brand. The tobacco was manufactured by the Surbrug Tobacco Company, New York, NY in Factory 16, 2nd District, NY. The Surbrug Tobacco Company led the attempts to garner women's support for smoking and designed their products and advertisements accordingly. Please look at all pictures and ask questions.
