Description: Why the green edition is so much scarcer than the leather edition. The black leather Revelation was sold until 1924. No longer listed in the 1925 catalogue. But sold in the 1924 catalogue.The green Revelation was only sold for 45 days. It was announced in the 5/15/1918 WT. Then in the July 1, 1918 WT on page 194 it said this, "Cloth edition permanently exhausted". That is why the green cloth edition is so much rarer than the leather edition. There is always a reason if it can be found. Leather edition sold for 6 years (1918/1924) vs 45 days for the green cloth edition!!! This Update Posted: 6/18/23 Rare 1918 "The Revelation" Pocket Book in very good condition. This title comes in two bindings which are leather and this gark green cloth edition. The green edition is a whole lot rarer than the leather edition. Poor condition leather editions have sold consistantly over the years in the $700/$750 range. This being the rarer of the two editions and in this condition should engender a higher bid. I have had over the decades around 8 or 9 of the leather and only two of the green hardback cloth edition so that should tell you something. As you see in the pictures the hinges are broken and the title page is loose but an easy fix for even a do-it-your selfer. Checked on You Tube and I stopped counting at 20 the number of videos on how to repair it yourself. Or take it to a local bookbinder for the easy fix. Why are the hinges broken? The width of the book is less than 1/4 inch. Crammed into that little space are 200 numbered pages printed on fine Bible paper. So if one was to open it fully the hinge will crack.
