Description: Here is an Antique Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Half Lace Footed Cake Plate. This elegant piece is a similar to the later 1/579 half lace cake serving dish. It is a very rare and wonderful piece, with exquisite painting including wonderful painted decorations on the sides of the piece in the tight space where the foot meets the plate. The piece is old, likely produced in the late 19th Century, sometime before 1894. The quality is very high, with exemplary painting by the very talented painter #31. Unfortunately the plate was damaged at one point its 125+ year lifetime, suffering a shallow chip to the underside of its rim. I had this chip professionally repaired in New York City. The chip was filled with a clear, glass-like substance and sanded down. The repair can be seen and felt on the underside of the rim, but the chip is completely filled. The plate can be used and hand-washed as usual. Other than that area of damage and subsequent repair, the piece is in excellent condition. There are no other chips or cracks or repairs. There is some shallow scratching / utensil marks / minor signs of use on the surface of the plate. Normal discrete glaze bubbles/irregularities. The dish measures approximately 8 5/8 inches in diameter and 2 1/4 inches tall. It is a special, stunning piece that belongs in any blue fluted collection! Please examine the photos and description and reach out with any questions! Carefully packaged in non-smoking, no pets household, and shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
