Description: We have a pretty amazing and unique railroad lantern/lamp by the ADLAKE company ---- labeled "THE NON SWEATING ADLAKE LAMP CHICAGO" on top in a round metal cover. On the right side near the top is a nice embossed PRR (Pennsylvania Rail Road" symbol in the famous keystone shaped outline for the state of PA. The overall condition is pretty good with only scratches in the black paint and no dents or damage of any kind. What got me to initially purchase this lantern was that I've never seen another like this one ------ it has only ONE glass lens cap and it has a unique whiteish hue to it around the edges like it was made that way or treated somehow to have this appearance (or can be cleaned by the new owner).. The lens is a nice ruby red color and has some scratches from use, but no damage or repairs to it. The lens door opens and closes easily and is stable but the locking mechanism is a bit tough to engage -- see photos of open and closed. The lantern is a nice 18" in height with handle and 14" without ------ base is 6" across but in total about 10" in total. It weighs a healthy 5 pounds and 2 ounces. What makes this unique is a bracket on the back that has 5 set positions to it and a trigger mechanism in the base that works great and will allow these 5 different positions to be achieved with just a pull of that trigger -- and will snap into position ---- very smooth mechanism.
