Description: Antique 1872 Catholic Family Holy Bible. Published by D&J Sadlier and Co. Cover is made of wood and gold. Incredibly detailed. Some wear as seen in photos. The spine is in excellent condition minus the wear on the decorative exterior. The pages are lined with gold and have embossed detail. The gold coloring and the detail is still in excellent shape. One of the metal clasps is missing. That was recent and I was very upset when it was MIA. The clap is gold plated. No tears on any of the pages. The Bible is beautifully illustrated. There are some fingerprint smudges and slight staining on some pages. A good restoration expert can remove those. Over all this piece is in excellent condition given its age. I’ve compared it to similar bibles for sale and the one I possess is in superior shape comparatively speaking. This is an incredibly rare piece that I would love to find a good home.
