On the base it appears this has been dropped at some point and impacted on the edge of the base. I have taken pictures to point out this impact point. Also on the lid it is also bent on the inner ring of the cap which is also shown in the pictures. Finally, it is very difficult to see in the pictures however on the side of the kettle there is an indentation where it appear it may have taken an impact and is no longer perfectly circular. It is hard to see but if you look at the last picture on the left side of the kettle you maybe able to see the indentation.
