Description: Up for bid is an original pre-owned Rare Antique Sheriff & Taylor’s Baltimore Maryland City Directory 1885 Book. Found at an estate sale of a book collector. This is a Sheriff & Taylor’s Baltimore Maryland City Directory 1885. The directory contains over 1700 pages of residence, business, addresses, advertisements, Government, etc. The book is in fair condition with a missing spine, the front and back covers are separated. Some pages and sections are detached. It is missing a few pages (17 to 34) which covered some ads, General Content listing and part of the street name index. Pages 1-16 are attached to the back of the director and the front of the directory picks up on page 35 on with Street names. Resident and business listings start on page 41. There is general wear around the covers and edges from wear and use. Few pages are loose and some have rough edges; others may be dogeared and some spots have tears. A couple of pages toward the back had some small areas cut out (i.e. a business ad). I did not see any writing on the pages. Overall most of the pages are intact and readable.
