Description: Antique design MORAVIAN TILE WORKS Arts Crafts POTTERY TILE Received at Zion Church Baltimore. Berks county, Pennsylvania. Stamped. Moravian, Doylestown, PA, Bucks County An extremely nice 5 1/2" arts and crafts tile manufactured by Henry Chapman Mercer's Moravian Pottery & Tile Works, in Doylestown, PA. An example of this exact tile is featured in HMercer's 1913 commission by Zion Lutheran Church of Baltimore. The church requested two exterior wall murals in tile for an arcade that overlooks a garden. An example of this tile can be found on the floor, in front of one of the two arches created by Mercer. The tile features two Birds of Tintern Abbey flanking a tree, within a circle border bearing the Latin inscription NON OMNIA SED BONA ET BENE, translated as "not all things, but good [things] and well [done]". Tile measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and 7/16" thick. Displays beautifully, with very very minor nicks to corners, as expected. No other chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. Expected surface wear,
