Description: REDUCED! This is a rare Singer Featherweight Model 221 sewing machine in rare Blackside! The sewing machine is dated 1945, which has the very rare blackside finish. This finish came out in WWII when chrome was reserved for military use. Singer never used this term, but called it Black Oxide, after the process which produces the soft black color. This machine has all 3 of the required blackside "markers," including the face plate, stitch length plate and lifting lever. The serial number AG527931 indicates its "birth" date as September 19, 1945. It comes with lots of Black Oxide attachments, 4 bobbins and other accessories. Please see photos. I have replaced the foot cushions, light bulb and drip pad. Original bulb and foot cushions are still in the box. The machine is in working order and has been serviced recently by me. It has a few blemishes and some of the ornate paint design has worn off slightly. The case has been refurbished and looks great! It is also functional. Both of the clasps on the case work, but one of them has lost its “spring action”. Information about Blacksides can be found online or the Featherweight Shop. Please feel free to ask any questions or if you need any more information about this beautiful sewing machine.
