This chili pepper is a whopping 125 times hotter than a Jalapeno. The plants can grow over 3 feet. The pods are 2.5-3 inches in length and 1-1.2 inches in width. The Bhut Jolokia loves heat and humidity, but with a little extra care and love it will grow well in a cooler climate. Germination time is similar to the Habanero peppers, so it will take longer than others. Do not despair if you don’t see anything after 3 weeks. The Bhut Jolokia has a long growing season and is considerd a tender perennial in zone 8 thru 11. In cooler climate, plant the peppers in containers and overwinter them indoors. 120 days.
