Description: John F Kennedy White House issue VIP gift pen made by Parker This is President John F. Kennedy's most elusive gift pen. This pen was made by Parker in 1962 it was made exclusively for the Kennedy White House. It is estimated that only a few hundred were made. President Kennedy would give these pens on rare occasions to dignitaries supporters and VIPs. This is an original pen from the Kennedy White House. It is not the replica which is seen at times on eBay. This pen has fine metal threads as is characteristic of the Parker pens made in the 1960s. (The replica has plastic threads) Another identifying characteristic of the original Kennedy is the fact that President Kennedy's signature and the wording "The White House" are imprinted on the barrel using a technique which not only imprints but also etches the plastic barrel. When you run your finger across the barrel, you can actually feel the etching in the plastic. The pen is packaged in the original Parker box which does show signs of aging and mild wear and tear. The pen is in excellent condition. It does not appear to have been used.
